Paris - Day 1

After a 2 1/2 hour train ride, with 2 sick boys, we made it to the beautiful city of Paris. We got there around 10:30 p.m. and by the time we got a taxi to the hotel it was close to 11:30 p.m. So, we went to the room and hit the sack. I would like to say that the next morning we were up early and on the go, but that would not be telling the truth. We all slept in until 11:00 and didn't even know it. I apparently turned off the alarm and we were all so tired (plus it was putch black) that we couldn't wake up. Even though we got a late start, we managed to get quite a bit accomplished the first day. We went to the top of the Eiffel Tower and the pics below are of the view.

The Eiffel Tower from our cafe and the cafe where we had Brunch.

On the way up...

We made it to the top!! The rain held off, but it was a little cloudy.

A Park that was right below us.

Sacre Coeur is over there in the distance. The long "u" shaped building is the Musee du Louvre. If you look closely you can see the pyramid entrance in the center.

Family photo opportunities outside the Eiffel Tower.
After the Eiffel Tower, we walked over to the Arc De Triomphe. When we got there it was blocked off b/c they were having their annual dedication to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It was quite interesting to watch and the boys enjoyed hearing the band. I won't bore you those pictures though. We walked down the Champs Elysees to do a little shopping and enjoy all of the sights.
Even though we didn't get up until 11 we still had a very productive day. We will start much earlier tomorrow!!!

Sounds like a hectic day. Did you snag an amazing deal on a Louis Vutton bag when you were shopping in Champs Elysees? Hehe we went to that store and were amazed to find that purses could cost $10,000.
